| Now THIS is a real housewife |
When The Real Housewives of _____________ began airing on Bravo years ago, I thought "Wow, finally reality TV that is actually real and decent to watch. It was fun, entertaining and it was amusing to see these women who had no financial problems whom lived in different areas. The show was light, funny and it was enjoyable to watch; something I looked forward to. Who knew that three years later I would be the one in therapy with anxiety over these women's problems?!?
I think Bravo is in bed with the Mental Health industry as you need a Xanax to watch the show!
Jill hated Bethenny because..hmm..I still don't know why, Jill hated Alex because...hmm..I still don't know why, Jill hated...okay you get the point! In addition to Jill there is Nene; the loud-mouth woman whose antics we all loved, where did she go? And let's not forget Kim...Did we all forget that this woman, not just a couple of years ago tried to convince the viewing audience she had cancer; now she is a doting mother and wife? Nah...not buying it! And where do I start with Taylor? The crazy lunatic who decided to claim she was abused but has so many wholes in her story you could ride a carnival cruise boat through it. Don't even get me started on RHONJ!
The shows have taken such dark turns it makes you wonder what happens in these production meetings.
Okay, we just had a meeting with a pharmaceutical company who needs a drive in sales for an anti-anxiety medication....let's make sure we make the show intensely depressing, target everyone against one person...the nastier they are, the better! Let's do it!
I have to think this is their goal, why else would they think the viewing audience wants to watch something so dismal?
The most recent vile thing Bravo aired was the phone call with Joe Guidice with whom one can only assume was a mistress, but we don't know..we never hear the other voice. I have seen this so many times on commercials I have been able to determine that Joe Guidice could have been talking to anyone, not just a woman, who knows when half of those groans happened...editing anyone? Bravo is so concerned with ratings they would risk disturbing a marriage with four innocent girls just to lead in ratings? Sad.
In my opinion, which I know you all care about (HA!), Bravo really needs some new blood. Maybe, just maybe, its time they retired the housewives shows. I was as big a fan as anyone, but, I hate to say it, they are just getting to be old and boring. Same old, same old. Is it just me? I really don't think it is.
So my plea is to cancel all Housewives...Does Bravo not get it yet? How many of them actually have money or are even wives at this point? Wasn't that the premise of the show? If your not going to cancel them, then do the viewers a favor and change the title.
The Real: Bitter, Vile, Not-to-be-trusted, middle to high income housewives, or not, of ___________________.
